Theatre Food & Beverage Feasibility – The Stephen Joseph Theatre

The Stephen Joseph Theatre is a producing theatre in the resort town of Scarborough North Yorkshire, founded in 1955. It is most notable for its long association with Alan Ayckbourn, an Olivier and Tony Award winning playwright and their former artistic director.

This relationship continues to this day, with the theatre typically staging one revival and one new production both directed by Alan each year along with 4 – 6 other produced shows and mixed program of other work.

Housed within a 1930’s art deco building, there are two auditoria, the 404 seat Round Theatre, and the 165 seat McCarthy theatre/cinema.

Montfort Catering Consultants has been working with the Stephen Joseph Theatre, undertaking a feasibility study to determine future potential food and beverage opportunities to be provided at the theatre. This has included undertaking a detailed environmental analysis, determining the future catering demand and financial potential along with developing concept options and recommendations as well as future governance and management model.
