We are a focused team of food and beverage specialists led by Paul Smith. Paul is founder and principal of Montfort and has been an independent catering consultant since 1998. Paul is an enthusiastic, committed and motivated catering professional with over 20 years senior level catering consultancy experience and extensive operational knowledge. This has been developed across a broad range of complex organisations within the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
Paul originally qualified with a BSc hons in Hospitality Management and later went on to achieve an MBA with distinction.
His earlier career includes various senior operational management and strategic development roles including working for Forte Hotels as well as with a number of independent operators managing restaurants, cafes, bars and events within theatres, art centres, leisure, the events sector and the wider hospitality industry.
This combination of extensive operational knowledge and expertise combined with over 20 years specialist catering consultancy experience has enabled Paul to work at the most senior levels within organisations while at the same time understanding the operational relevance of proposed initiatives and how they will integrate at various business levels.
As principal consultant, Paul brings a wealth of experience, combined with a pragmatic approach and levels of dedication and commitment second to none.
