The Halle ranks among the UK’s top symphonic ensembles, with a distinguished history of acclaimed performances in this country and around the world; award winning recordings; radio broadcasts and educational outreach programmes; and a visionary commitment to building audiences and developing orchestral repertoire.
Hallé St Peter’s is the Hallé’s rehearsal, recording and event venue in Ancoats, Manchester. The building, located on Blossom Street, is a Grade II listed deconsecrated church, which was built in 1859. After standing empty for decades, the Hallé acquired St Peter’s and it has been redeveloped and restored to its former glory providing a light, airy and beautiful space ideal for rehearsing, performing, teaching and recording.
In March 2017 the Halle’s Round 2 submission to the Arts Council large capital grant-funding programme was approved. The capital development project has created a new-build extension forming the second phase of the project to transform the Grade II listed former church building into rehearsal, performance, education and ancillary spaces for the Halle Orchestra, Choir and other ensembles. The redeveloped spaces also include a public café bar along with supporting kitchen. Building works commenced in 2017 with the building reopening in 2019.
Montfort Consultants have worked with the Halle, determining the future conceptual style and operating parameters for the new café bar, along with its future financial potential and approach to management of the venue catering. In conjunction with our design partners, consideration was also been given to the catering spaces, including the kitchen design and location.
We also supported the Halle with sourcing a food and beverage partner for this prestigious venue, ensuring they have a relevant partner able to deliver world class event catering as well as providing a sympathetic café within a sensitive environment with multi use spaces and requirements.
