QUAD, Derby is an international centre for engagement in contemporary art and film, focussing on major exhibitions, professional practice for artists, independent film and the creative use of emergent digital technologies. A range of unique and inspiring spaces are also available for events, meetings and conferences.

The fully licenced Café Bar at this exciting arts centre provides a range of all day snacks along with meals and drinks.

Montfort Catering Consultants were appointed to undertake a detailed operational and financial review to develop and realign the Café Bar concept and offer to audiences’ and participants’ needs as well as attracting additional alternative ‘destination’ based customers. Critical to this was developing a relevant menu with a focused range, to replace the excessive existing menu and style, which was undifferentiated from immediate external competitors.

Design and circulation opportunities were also addressed to enhance speed of service, improve the customer experience and optimise sales, particularly for peak periods. We also developed the Café Bar’s financial budget including developing sales forecasts and operational cost structures based upon the implementation of our detailed recommendations.
