About Park Theatre

Park Theatre, Finsbury Park is the brainchild of Artistic Director, Jez Bond, and Creative Director, Melli Marie, who – following a six year London-wide search for a building – discovered a vacant office block next to Finsbury Park station in 2010. Garnering support from the theatre community at large including luminaries such as Ian McKellan and Alan Rickman, the press and, local residents they raised the necessary funds to convert the tired concrete building into a thriving new theatre and beacon for the community. At a cost of £2.6 million, the building, opened in May 2013 to rave reviews from critics.

With a mixture of new writing and modern revivals, Park Theatre delivers world-class theatre, collaborating with the finest emerging talent on stage and behind the scenes.

The Theatre has two spaces (a 200 seat and 90 seat space) along with a Café Bar that is open throughout the day and into the evening. When the venue opened in 2013, the food and beverage provision was outsourced to a third party operator, however it was brought in house in 2016 and is managed through a subsidiary. In addition, there is a further bar on the upper floor with seating areas across various levels.

Our Approach

Montfort Catering Consultants have been working with Park Theatre, initially undertaking an operational, financial and management review of their Café Bar and wider food and beverage offer to determine the future food and drink potential and opportunities for the theatre.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic we are supporting Park Theatre with further catering consultant operational and business planning reopening advice. This has included support and advice to develop a new food concept; business modelling and financial planning; procurement EPoS and PoS support advice as well as on-going food service mentoring for the senior management team.

We have also fully supported the theatre with the recruitment of a new Head of Hospitality post including developing all documentation, reviewing applications, interviews and appointment of the preferred candidate.
