Milestones Museum

Milestones Museum is Hampshire’s Museum of Living History located in Basingstoke. Visitor numbers are in the region of 100,000 per annum with an aspiration to increase this to in the region of 120,000 via a redevelopment programme for the museum.

The broader project objectives aim to raise the overall standards to improve the visitor experience and boost income generation. A major part of the project includes the refurbishment of the café including increasing the number of covers, to maximise income as well as enhance the museum visitor experience.

Montfort Catering Consultants have worked with Milestones Museum since September 2019, providing specialist operational, financial and design support to transform the existing café and visitor catering experience. This has included practical support including developing the future financial operating model as well as determining the future menu offer, production and servicing needs for both peak periods as well as regular and quiet days along with equipment and design implications.
