Brockhole Visitor Centre - Lake District National Park Authority

Brockhole on Windermere is owned and managed by The Lake District National Park Authority, England’s largest National Park. The Brockhole house and grounds cover an area of 30 acres, with 10 acres of formal gardens. The terrace enjoys a beautiful view of the Langdale Pikes and stunning Windermere lakeshore.

Brockhole attracts in the region of 360,000 visitors per year.

Activities at Brockhole Visitor Centre include archery, boat hire, bike hire, mini golf, pony rides, all weather play, adventure playground, exhibitions, trails and orienteering, Treetop Nets and Treetop Trek. Brockhole is also available to hire for weddings, parties and groups. You can even travel to Brockhole by steamer!

As well as all of the activities there is a shop and visitor catering including Visitor Café, Lakeshore Cabin and Brockhole Bites.

We undertook a critical review of the existing visitor catering offer along with providing detailed recommendations to ensure that it supports in providing the best possible visitor experience along with the optimum financial return to the Lake District National Park Authority. As well as focusing on the existing operations, the project also included key elements to be used in the planning process for potential capital investment options for the site.
