Montfort Catering Consultants are undertaking a review of the Dudley Canal & Tunnel Trust’s visitor catering and wider food and beverage offers along with providing development options, recommendations and a revised business case.

The Portal building is the gateway to the canal adventures and includes the Biffa Award Gallery and Waterside Gallery with a regularly-changing programme of exhibitions, a gift shop; The Legger Suite, a bright spacious multi-use events space; the Gongoozler Coffee Shop and adjacent canalside balcony.

The Dudley Canal Underground experience steps back 428 million years and includes sound and light shows, historic recreations and informative commentary. Halloween provides the perfect opportunity for a “Spooky Boat” with themed caverns and activities and at Christmas the Christmas Boats provide a magical trip through beautifully lit caverns and tunnels to a fun filled pantomime.

Alternatively there is the Open Water Cruise – a 3 hour cruise on the canals around Dudley and Tipton. Many of the boats are also available for private hire for business and social events.

Gongoozler Coffee Shop is a bright and airy café, with a fantastic canal side balcony – perfect for eating and drinking.
