Contact – Catering Partner / Expressions of Interest

We have recently been supporting Contact by undertaking a catering strategy, feasibility study and business planning for their exciting capital development project.

With a significant proportion of the funding now in place, we are now supporting Contact secure a catering partner to provide cafe, bar and event services in a ‘new’ Contact. Please see below for further details.

Catering partner – expressions of interest

Food ServiceContract Catering, and Tenders.

Contact is a vibrant professional contemporary theatre and arts venue, with young people at the heart of everything we do.

From our iconic theatre situated on Oxford Road in central Manchester we deliver our outstanding year-round public programme. We commission, co-produce and present new work with and for young people with Manchester-based national and international organisations.

Our Arts Council England Lottery-funded £6.5m redevelopment project, to be completed in 2018, will make our venue more open, welcoming and accessible, with fantastic new performance and community spaces, equipped with the latest digital technologies for the next generation of audiences, artists and young people. Contact reaches over 100,000 people annually through shows, exhibitions and activities, and many more through national touring. Our co-productions have opened in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Bristol, and Contact’s commissioned shows tour to venues and festivals nationwide.

Expressions of interest

We are inviting expressions of interest from commercial and innovative caterers, café and restaurant operators interested in working in partnership to provide café, bar and events services in the ‘new’ Contact from summer 2018, ready for our autumn public reopening. We are looking for creative ideas to complement our Vision – ‘a world where young people are empowered by creativity to become leaders in both the arts and their communities’.  It is essential that our future catering partner shares Contact’s values.

In the first instance, please email rosehiles@contactmcr.com expressing your interest by Monday 17 October 2016 stating, on no more than two sides of A4, why you are interested in working in partnership with us and your organisational/individual background and relevant experience. Informal discussions will be held w/c 29 October 2016 with those shortlisted. We will then invite formal proposals to be submitted by w/c 5 December 2016 from those selected, with a view to holding interviews in January 2017.
