About Silverstone Interactive Museum

Silverstone Heritage Ltd (SHL) is the independent, charitable organisation responsible for developing, delivering and now operating the Silverstone Interactive Museum (SIM) which opened to the public in October 2019 and was officially opened by the Duke of Sussex and Sir Lewis Hamilton on 6thMarch 2020.

Silverstone Interactive Museum is housed in a state of the art 6,000 square metre new build and brings the extensive heritage of Silverstone and British motor racing to life through an exciting, interactive and educational experience including:

  • A permanent exhibition at the entrance to the Circuit that takes visitors on an exciting journey through the history of motor racing at Silverstone, set against the wider context of the sport.
  • A Collections and Research Centre offering museum and archive-accredited storage for the unique British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) archive and other motor sport collections, as well as a specialist library and research room and learning spaces for educational groups.
  • An extensive formal education programme focused on science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) which aims to inspire future engineers.
  • A café with circa 100 internal and 60 external covers situated in the attractive high footfall ground floor foyer, with views of the track.
  • Conference and event spaces including dedicated flexible meeting and events spaces; as well as a range of locations amongst the main exhibition and interactive space and the atrium.

Montfort Catering Consultants have supported Silverstone Interactive Museum with an accelerated catering tender to identify and source a catering partner able to deliver the museum’s café and conference and events food & beverage business. Our support ensured appointment of the new F&B partner in less than 2 months, providing a robust structure to optimise the commercial return and augment the visitor experience.
