Aspire

Aspire, based in Oxford, runs its own social businesses offering professional facilities management services to local councils, blue-chip corporates, academic institutions and private customers. The businesses create work placements and employment opportunities for local people facing barriers to employment.

The result is a £1m plus saving for the Oxfordshire tax payer, a reduction in offending rates and homelessness, promotion of social inclusion, and help to move people off benefits and into work.

Montfort Catering Consultants were approached by Aspire and asked to undertake a detailed food and beverage feasibility study to consider the viability of Aspire also providing retail catering services as a further potential service and business opportunity. Specifically, a high street café operation within central Oxford was to be the first site for consideration.

We undertook a detailed review of the potential café opportunity, as well as advising on the more strategic considerations and requirements in relation to the organisational needs and support infrastructure essential for a new catering business.
