Hospitality Industry – Coronavirus Support & Coping Strategies

Everybody will be well aware of the impact that the Coronavirus has had on the UK Hospitality Industry – which in short has been decimated by the subsequent closure of the vast majority of pubs, cafés and restaurants across all sectors. Whether you are an owner, operator or employee the impact is changing lives forever.

We wanted to collate some positive stories that could give inspiration for others in their time of need during this crisis.

Lina Stores – Free Food for Londoners

Lina Stores have a funding page to support hospitality workers, providing free food for Londoners in need. All donations received will be used to buy supplies and pay staff to cook pastas and sauces, all of which will be given for free to hospitality staff in need.

What a fantastic initiative – supporting hospitality staff in this time of need as well as keeping their own staff employed. If you are an operator of a café, restaurant or take away could you do something similar? Or if you are out of work and in need of something to eat this could be one avenue to help you out.

Domino’s Pizza– Friday 20thMarch – free medium sized pizza to NHS staff, with ID at participating stores.

Pret– offering all NHS workers free hot drink and 50% off food.

BrewDog– will be making hand sanitizer at its distillery in Aberdeenshire. Other distilleries are also doing the same. Could your hospitality business do something similar?

We will update this periodically with new stories and ideas as they arise.
